Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit
September 2, 2025 to June 1, 2026

Its Evolution and Its Exhibition

The Broadmead Arts Council was created five years ago to acquire visual arts for a permanent Broadmead Collection of art and to mount exhibitions of paintings, photographs and sculpture.

During the past two years the Council’s Sculpture Advisory Committee has been studying and researching outdoor sculpture and planning to present a small, temporary exhibit of outdoor sculpture. In doing so, the Committee is seeking to obtain residents’ reactions to the display of contemporary sculpture in the beautiful, natural landscape of Broadmead’s campus.

Quick Facts About the Exhibition:

  1. In early September, five pieces of sculpture will be exhibited for approximately nine months at sites recommended by developers of a new Campus Plan.

  2. Thirty sculptors responded to invitations to display their work at Broadmead. They submitted 79 pieces of sculpture for consideration by the Sculpture Advisory Committee. Six were selected for exhibition by the committee of 11 residents, a member of the Administration and a Board member.

  3. The sculpture was installed and will be de-installed by the sculptors in a manner approved by Broadmead’s Facilities Management Team.
